This project stands as one of my most ambitious large-format illustrations to date. The goal was to transform a massive wall at Plus Ultra Fitness in Las Vegas into an explosive, high-energy anime and pop-culture crossover.
Beyond the sheer scale of the surface area, what made this project truly special was the client. The owner brought an incredibly dynamic, "fire" spirit to the collaboration, which fueled the creative process from start to finish. What began as a massive commercial commission turned into a great friendship.
The Design Challenge
Bringing together icons from Dragon Ball Z, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Naruto, Black Clover, and more required a cohesive lighting and color strategy to make them look like they belong in the same universe. A vibrant cherry blossom background and sweeping energy blasts were used to unify the composition and create a natural flow from left to right.
The Technical Process: 100% Vector
Designing for a commercial gym wall means the artwork has to remain flawlessly crisp up close. The entire composition was built from the ground up in Adobe Illustrator. Scaling complex character art, dynamic auras, lightning effects, and halftone details to physical architectural dimensions pushes the software to its absolute limits.
(And please... it is best we don't discuss the final .ai file size!)
Final Installation: Bringing the Wall to Life
Seeing the transition from a digital vector file to a fully installed, large-format printed mural is always the most rewarding part of the process. The colors popped beautifully in the physical space, completely changing the atmosphere of the gym.
Because the artwork is fully vector, the line work and gradients remain incredibly sharp even when standing right next to the wall.
